About P & Q Press

P & Q Press began in 1999 as a partnership of two writers, Peggy Garrison and David Quintavalle, in response to the difficulties poetry writers have getting even short chapbooks published.

They began with several books dedicated to a single author. Though the production resources were limited they were always interested in quality publications; both the content and look of the book.

All editing, desk-top publishing, book design, etc. is done by the two partners, so costs are kept low to be able to produce the best looking books at the lowest cost.

In 2003 they published a first poetry anthology which took the theme of subways in New York and other cities. In 2006 a second volume of New York City street poems was released. Victoria Hallerman, a fellow poet and editor for Heliotrope: a Journal of Poetry, joined Peggy and David for the streets anthology. Complete with illustrations, these perfect-bound books take P & Q Press to another level of publication.
